Overview
Annapurna Base Camp Trek combines some of the most spectacular mountain scenery, providing a fascinating insight into the modern hill life of Nepal. This is a unique trek along local trails, through forests, villages and terraced farmlands.

What to Expect

Days 1: Meet at Kathmandu Airport and transfer to hotel.

Days 2: Drive or fly to Pokhara It will be about 6 hour drive by tourist coatch or 30 minutes flight. Overnight at hotel.

Days 3: Pokhara to Tolka: Drive to Phedi by car (30 minutes) and trek up to Dhampus, working mostly uphill through cultivated fields and local villages.. This scenic Gurung Village is inhabited by a mix of people: Gurung, Brahman, Magar communities and it offers a spectaular view of the Himalayan ranges including the Annapurna and Machhapuchhare range after having a lunch in Dhampus continue working to Tolka a nice Gurung village.

Days 4: Tolka to Chhomrong: working through a nice trerraces to Landruk a beautiful Gurung village provides you a excellent view from Landruk trail continues to Jhinu you can Enjoy a natural hot springa at Jhinu danda from here another hour up hill to Chhomrong. Stay at Chhomrong(2040m) towering above the villages is the mighty peak of Annapurna south, with the Fishtail facing it across the valley.

Days 5: Chhomrong to Dovan: We walk through the forest of Kuldighar . The track winds steeply up through deep bamboo and rhododendron forest to the village of Dovan.

Days 6: Dovan to Machhapuchre Base Camp: A trek of the narrow Modi khola valley will bring you almost to the base of the M.B.C. Here you will spend a day gazing away at the snow covered peaks above and the beauty of the landscape around.

Days 7: M.B.C to A.B.C: ( Back to Dovan) Early morning working to A.B.C. where you stand in the century, the 360 degree views are breathtaking, Although clouds roll in early, the curtain often lifts at sunset to rival radiant, glowing peaks Dovan to Chhomrong: Trek back to Chhomrong.

Days 8: Chhomrong to Pokhara: Working through a flat level after an hour climb down to Kimrong Khola and and start ascending you will work through rhododendron forest and nice terraces. Having a lunch in Ghandruk . An ideal vantage point in this pristine village offers breathtaking views of Annapurna South, Gangapurna, Annapurna III, Machhapuchhare and Hiunchuli, continue working to Birethanti along the terraced fields beneath the splendid panorama of awe-inspiring glaciated Himalayan mountain ranges, from Nayapul drive back to Pokhara.

Days 9: Fly or drive back to Kathmandu .

Days 10: Free day in Kathmandu , you can do shopping or looking around, Evening. Final departure, transfer to airport.

Packing tips: 
  • Warm clothes for cold weather, including a set or two of thermal inner wear. 
  • Water and wind proof outer shell jacket and pants. 
  • Walking clothes like lightweight loose trousers, shorts and comfortable and cool shirts. 
  • Rain ponchos, wool socks, broken in walking boots, long trousers, warm hats, gloves, bandana, trekking poles, cap/hat for walking in the sun Sleeping bags if you have them. 
  • Travelers wearing lenses should carry plenty of lenses solution and backup prescription glasses. 
  • Sunglasses or ski glasses if walking in snow or high altitudes. 
  • Basic first aid kit and personal medication. Sunscreen and sun hat help. 
  • Water purifiers like iodine tablets, filters etc. Headlamps with spare batteries.

Traditional costume of Nepal Talking about traditional costume of Nepal it would be right to say not "costume" but "costumes" because though Nepal is a small country there are many ethnic groups living here and each group has their unique traditional dress. I will tell about a few that I find most interesting. The Newars . This ethnic group has many different styles of dress among themselves but there is one common thing - they prefer combinations of black and red colours. The most common seen Newar woman's dress is the   hakku potashi , a black sari with red borders. Young girls wear it knee level,  but older women prefer to completely cover their legs. The sari is complimented by a white   patuka  wrapped aroud the waist and a cotton shawl wrapped diagonally over the blouse.
