Ghorepani Poon Hill trek,

Ghorepani Poon Hill trek, also known as Pun Hill trek (some trekkers called "Phoon Hill" as well), is one of the easiest trekking trails in Annapurna region. Actually, this is not trekking which makes an adventurous journey; it is normal walking holiday trip in the foothills of the Annapurnas with an alluring Himalayan views.  The views you can see from Poon Hill is surely one of the best Himalayan views in the world that's why people called it Annapurna sunrise view trek – and remember, this trek can be done for whole year. (Exp.  June and July are the months of rainy season in Nepal. During that time it will be little bit tough, but some trekkers have been doing the trip in that time too in recent years).

The trekking to
Poon hill is a short trekking to the Annapurna which is popular for immense views for Mt. Dhaulagiri range. The trip starts from beautiful lake city Pokhara – Nayapul (Trek starting point) and in a couple of days you will be at the destination of the trip (Poon Hill).  Throughout the trail you will cross Thikhedhunga (1,540m), Ghorepani (2,850 m.) and beautiful Machhapuchhre and Annapurna Himalaya Range. After viewing the Annapurna panorama from Poon hill we will trek back to the Tadapani (2,600m) and Ghandruk (1,940m) villages. This hiking will finish at Nayapul. Beside the Annapurna Himalayas panorama, the trek offers to observe typical Gurung culture as we will cross few Gurung villages on the trail and beautiful rhododendron forests.  Normally the trip is organized for 10 days for your luxury trekking because it originally starts from Kathmandu. But if you want to finish it within 7 days, it is also possible.

After the trip some people want to enjoy their holiday in Chitwan National park which is famous for wildlife tour and tourism in Nepal.  It is about a 5 hour drive to get Chitwan from Pokhara. Couple of day’s trip to Chitwan will be appropriate for you. You will see numbers of wild animals including one horned rhinos, crocodiles, deer, peacocks, leopards, various species for birds and butterflies, and if you are lucky enough, you will get a chance to have an encounter with Royal Bengal tiger on your elephant back riding trip.

Traditional costume of Nepal

Traditional costume of Nepal Talking about traditional costume of Nepal it would be right to say not "costume" but "costumes" because though Nepal is a small country there are many ethnic groups living here and each group has their unique traditional dress. I will tell about a few that I find most interesting. The Newars . This ethnic group has many different styles of dress among themselves but there is one common thing - they prefer combinations of black and red colours. The most common seen Newar woman's dress is the   hakku potashi , a black sari with red borders. Young girls wear it knee level,  but older women prefer to completely cover their legs. The sari is complimented by a white   patuka  wrapped aroud the waist and a cotton shawl wrapped diagonally over the blouse. Men wear a double-breasted shirt ( daura ) with flaps fastened by ties diagonally across the chest, and tight trousers called  suruwal . The costume c
