Solukhumbu Cultural Trek




Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu Airport, Welcoming and Transfer to Hotel

Day 02: Fly from Kathmandu to Phaplu which takes 35 minutes. Trek from Salleri to Ghunsa via Dorpu and it takes about six hours. On the way you can experience of Tamang, Magar and Sherpa culture. Not only this you can also enjoy the views of beautiful views of mountains and landscapes.

Day 03: Trek from Ghunsa to Pattale via Kerung which takes about eight hours. You can visit monasteries, mani walls and Buddhist stupa at Kerung. Here you find the mixed settlements of Tamang, Magar, Sherpa and others. The panoramic views mesmerize you completely.

Day 04: Trek from Pattale to Jhapre and it takes about six hours. You can see wild orchids on the way. Here you can view beautiful landscapes along the Solukhumbu Okhaldhunga bordering districts . There are monasteries and Buddhist stupa in Jhapre. The cultural show performed here is worth of watching.

Day 05: Trek from Jhapre to Pikey which takes about six hours. This day you experience high altitude vegetation and can see Himalaya flora and fauna. You find centuries old monasteries, Buddhist stupas and mani stones. The yak herding can be seen at different places. You are accompanied by unique landscapes and sceneries. This particular area is feasible for marathon and mountain bike race.

Day 06: Trek from Pikey to Junbesi and it takes about five hours. The trail goes from Pikey to Junbesi via Pikey peak. While trekking up to Pikey peak you can see sunrise view and mountain peaks from Kanchenjunga to Dhaulagiri including Everest. After you cross Pikey peak you walk down through unique landscape to Junbesi valley.

Day 7: Trek from Junbesi to Phaplu 2470m/5 hours, 
Today is our last trek day, we start our trek after breakfast, and our trail leads down hills to reach Phaplu. We walk along the Junbesi Khola to join our main trail where the trail heads to Ringmo Village. We will have our lunch on the way, and then we continue our trail until reaching Phaplu. Stay overnight in Lodge.

Day 8: Fly from Phaplu to Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel.
Early in the morning after breakfast, we fly back to Kathmandu and our car come to pick up us and transfer to Hotel.

Day 9: Final Departure depending on your schedule transfer to International Airport.

Traditional costume of Nepal Talking about traditional costume of Nepal it would be right to say not "costume" but "costumes" because though Nepal is a small country there are many ethnic groups living here and each group has their unique traditional dress. I will tell about a few that I find most interesting. The Newars . This ethnic group has many different styles of dress among themselves but there is one common thing - they prefer combinations of black and red colours. The most common seen Newar woman's dress is the   hakku potashi , a black sari with red borders. Young girls wear it knee level,  but older women prefer to completely cover their legs. The sari is complimented by a white   patuka  wrapped aroud the waist and a cotton shawl wrapped diagonally over the blouse.
