It is fact that Nepal is the second richest country in water resources in the whole world. There are about 6000 rivers with about 45000 Km lengths. Mechi, Koshi, Bagmati, Karnali, Narayani, Gandaki, and Mahakali are the major rivers of Nepal. The Koshi is the largest among them. Deepest river is Narayani and the the longest one is Karnali. Mahendra Tal, Phewa Tal, Rara Tal, Rupa Tal and Begnas Tal are the major and popular lakes of Nepal. There are countless number of brooks, streams and springs. It plays a vital role for the hydro electricity production, irrigation, development of industries, transportation and communication, and increase tourism industries.
